We recently got a plea from a county shelter employee because Jessie was about be put down due to age and health.  She is an 8 year old plott hound mix who is heart worm positive.   She also has several mammary tumors as well as a large mass on her neck which were diagnosed inoperable. As with many hounds that come from the eastern North Carolina area, she was likely a hunting dog who was discarded to the county kill shelter when he was too old to be useful.  The county shelter employee says she is a shelter favorite with lots of personality.  Will you give this gentle little girl lots of comfort and love during her last days?   If you are interested in adopting Jessie, please visit www.ehrdogs.org and mention him by name on the adoption application.  Please note this is a hospice situation.
