Daisy Needs A Home

This is sweet Daisy. We believe she is a boxer mix. She definitely has a boxer personality and likes to give hugs. She is obnoxiously affectionate.  She is approximately 5 years old. Spayed. UTD. She is heartworm positive.

This girl has been through so much. Dumped by owners. Surrendered to a kill shelter and left to die. She was out of time when one of our rescue partners pulled her but wasn’t able to find a rescue for her right away. Our rescue partner has had her for several months and she has done great with most dogs big and small.  However, she can be selective at times due to being attacked by another dog.

Her major issue is regular inappropriate urination.  Our rescue partner has done an abdominal Ultrasound to rule out a mass (Looked normal), bloodwork to rule out Cushings or Addisons (again normal). At this point the vet believes it is either Diabetes Insipidus or psychosomatic. She is currently on meds for diabetics insipidus (there is no test. With er the meds work and that the diagnosis or they don’t).

She is the sweetest dog and deserves to be able to run and play outside and nap on the couch. Unfortunately she isn’t able to do that in the foster home with the other dog who attacked her. Instead, she has to be kept separated for her own safety.  She has so much love to give.

Daisy is currently located in Eastern North Carolina.  A meet and greet can be arranged for a serious adopter who understands what is involved and would be willing to work with her to overcome her medical issues.
