WE WILL BE CLOSED ON THURSDAY, JULY 4TH

ENJOY THE HOLIDAY!

Please remember that the week of the July 4th Holiday is one of the worst weeks for shelter dogs. Due to the high amount of dogs who get lost during fireworks shows, many shelter dogs are euthanized when the shelter reaches capacity.

What can you do to help?
Keep your dog secure at all times. Use a leash whenever you take your dog outside.

Don't set off fireworks in developments or other highly populated areas. Instead, go to see the fireworks show hosted by your local town or city.

Foster a shelter dog. Freeing up space in the local shelter saves lives. Often shelter animals are only euthanized due to lack of space.

Adopt. Never buy. Adopting from a shelter directly impacts the unwanted pet population. Breeding dogs for profit only adds to the problem.

Support your local shelters and rescues. More resources allows us to save even more lives.

Mabel Update - NO CANCER

Did you know that the Gio Fund continues to cover medical costs of the dogs we pull until they are adopted?

Mabel was rescued after having one leg amputated due to cancer. In coordination with Eleventh Hour Rescue www.EHRDogs.org in Morris County, New Jersey, and A Shelter Friend www.AShelterFriend.org in rural Bladen County, North Carolina, we were able to pull her after her another rescue commitment fell through.

Recently, Mabel had surgery to remove two more masses on her good front leg. This time we have good news! Biopsy results came back negative. Mabel is cancer free!

However, as we save more animals our vet bills keep growing. To help us cover these additional medical costs and continue to fund saving more like her, please consider making a donation at www.GioFund.org

Thank you to our sponsors and congratulations to our raffle winners!
